Between the hours of 6PM - 12AM the forums AND Halo servers will be down around that time for maintenance. The server host is upgrading a few things and we'll be back online once they're done.  :113:

FunHouse Clan News / It's been a bit quiet lately, but not deserted...
« on: February 12, 2020, 11:48:47 PM »
I've got some plans for ole FC coming into action soon. Let's Plays! I've already got the Twitch and YouTube accounts setup...

...The YouTube account needs 100 subscribers in order to get a custom URL like Twitch's, so until then it'll have to be a mishmash url mess!

At first I plan on starting with Retro gaming, as we get going, I'll eventually get camera's and mic's and a whole bunch of cool stuff! Stay tuned for updates! :113:

If you're a Debian user like me who enjoys older, stable software, but you prefer to have the latest Firefox web browser, I've found the perfect solution!

The following technique enables the Debian unstable repository AND doesn't allow it to take precedence over the default, stable repository. Basically, you can simply hand pick the updated software you want given you enter the proper command to do so. What's best, is it appears to keep said software updated as you go, BONUS!

So first, we'll need to add the unstable repository. (Don't worry, unstable means that it hasn't been tested nearly as thoroughly as the stable branch, and COULD pose problems. I'm sure the Debian devs and maintainers use this term to protect themselves from people who don't understand this concept.)

STEP 1: Add the Unstable repository to your sources.list file located at /etc/apt/
Code: [Select]
deb http://deb.debian.org/debian/ unstable main contrib non-free
Because I use GNOME, it's easier for me to do this by searching Activities for "Software & Updates". Then I simply add the repository under "Other Software". If you don't use GNOME and/or prefer a terminal method, there's a link to the source material I got this from at the bottom of this post.

STEP 2: Set a low pin priority for the Debian Unstable repository. Create and open a file /etc/apt/preferences.d/99pin-unstable as root with a text editor:

*NOTE: It might be easier for you to do this in a terminal.

Code: [Select]
sudo nano /etc/apt/preferences.d/99pin-unstable
Code: [Select]
Package: *
Pin: release a=stable
Pin-Priority: 900

Package: *
Pin release a=unstable
Pin-Priority: 10

STEP 3: Install the latest regular (non-ESR) Firefox on Debian 10 Buster

Code: [Select]
sudo apt update
sudo apt install -t unstable firefox

That's it! Enjoy the latest Firefox on Debian Stable!

Forum Tips, Tricks, & Knowledge base / Using the YouTube tag 101

When you want to post a YouTube video, you can press the red play button above all the smileys, or type...

Code: [Select]
...Then, in between the two brackets, place the web address (url), so it looks like this...

Code: [Select]

...That should be all you need to post your video. The video will automatically size itself to fit the entire length of the posting area, but what if you wanted to make it smaller? All you have to do is add width and height modifiers like this...

Code: [Select]
[youtube width=192 height=108]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vclpgXq4dcE&t=16s[/youtube]

...This is useful if you want to focus more on your writing than the video itself...

*TIP: It's best to use even increments of the videos NATIVE resolution. This means that if your video is 1920x1080, then try sizes that are divisible by numbers such as 2, 4, 8, & 10. For example...

1920x1080 divided by 2 is 960x540
1920x1080 divided by 10 is 192x108

Here, a Tramp isn't a lady of the night, it's part of clown hierarchy! Everyone here starts as the lowest guy on the totem pole. Work your way up the chain by posting content! The Clown Hierarchy is as follows...

Tramp 0-49 posts
Auguste 50-99 posts
White face 100-249 posts
Mime 250-499 posts
Jester 500+ posts

...so get to posting to earn your clown rank!

I finally got back to editing these textures, and managed to finish the ALTTP version, (the blue version still needs work), and I messed around with the Triforce insignia to work with the mesh so that it doesn't get distorted. I also added the Phoenix under the Triforce just because. Enjoy!

Oh, and I lowered the size of the textures from 4k to 2k for performance reasons, and that 4k is a bit excessive IMO.

I always found it disappointing that you had to go through all that work to obtain the True Master Sword only to have a dull blade that looked no better than the Sleeping Master Sword, so I fixed it....

As is right now, I've only really modified the Blade and I'm releasing by what I'm calling a "Pre-Release" because there's still a lot I'd like to do to the swords, but as it is now I'm happy with. The Triforce emblem on the sword is upside down because of a fault in the Swords model, nothing I can do about that at this time. Other than that, the rest of the texture is pretty much the way it came for Relics of Hyrule.

I got the idea of using cube maps from cnyylzy123456789 and their Fudou Myouou Katana and Tachi mod. The only thing I mimicked from that mod was the mesh settings for lighting and also as a references. The cube map I used is from Humus? http://www.humus.name/index.php?page=Textures&ID=78

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim / Skyrim: Fudou Myouou Elements -by Crimson
« on: November 28, 2019, 08:22:17 PM »
This mod adds Fire, Frost, Shock, Sun, and Dragon elemental versions of cnyylzy123456789's Fudou Myouou Katana and Tachi and REQUIRES the original mod to work. You can find the original here....

I fell in love with this mod, but it needed some extra stuff, so with cnyylzy123456789's permission, I am now able to share this mod with the community. Enjoy!

There are special requirements needed in order to forge these katana's / tachi's, Fire, Frost, and Shock each require the Elven Smithing perk and associated Enchanting perks, ( Fire Enchanter, Frost Enchanter, Shock Enchanter ) The Dragon Katana / Tachi requires the Dragon Smithing perk, and the Sun Katana / Tachi requires the Respite perk. There are also 2 bonus katana / tachi's which require the Daedric and Arcane Smithing Perks. All the ingredients should be shown at any forge you choose to make them at. I think that's everything.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim / Skyrim: SilverPerk Enhanced -by Crimson
« on: November 28, 2019, 08:06:36 PM »
This mod changes how the SilverPerk works against undead and adds Vampires to those weak to silver. By default, Skyrim simply adds 20 points of extra damage, which is nice early in the game, but becomes horribly insignificant once the player starts leveling up.

I'm attempting to fix that by changing how this works by multiplying the Weapon damage by 8 times the number of the player's total damage amount. It's kinda difficult for me to explain, so you can see what I changed in the screenshots above.

This is a second attempt, the first not being released to the public, at balancing this, so post your comments if you experience issues. I did not test this with vanilla silver swords, but with silver swords from JRC's Sword Pack. However, it shouldn't make vanilla swords too overpowered, if at all seeing as how they have low attack strength anyway. I'm also using Bring Your Silver, which also modifies how undead receive damage, this might be relevant. Although I'm using those two mods, they shouldn't be required. Enjoy!

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim / Skyrim SE: Crown of Aetherius -by Crimson
« on: November 28, 2019, 08:04:31 PM »
I was always dissatisfied with the Aetherial Crown. I mean, it looked great, but lacked something. Sooooo, I made the Crown of Aetherius. This nifty crown will give you an 80% reduction in magicka cost as well as let you have 2 standing stones.

*Note: There is a glitch where if you keep changing the crown from light/heavy/jewelry at the Skyforge, you level up your smithing perk indefinitely, as in you can keep changing the crown out and level up until you max out. I haven't found a way to fix this, nor do I really care to, it's kinda neat, but it's up to you if you want to abuse that flaw.

So Crimson, what do I have to do to get this crown? Simple, get the Aetherial Crown like normal, then gather 5 Grand Soul Gems, 5 Fire Salts, 5 Frost Salts, and 5 Void Salts. Throw those ingredients along with the Aetherial Crown into the SkyForge and you get the Crown of Aetherius. Enjoy!

*UPDATE: v1.01 removes the 2 standing stones ability, leaving just the reduction in magicka cost. Unfortunately I can not figure out why the Standing Stone script isn't working, but is that really a loss? Also, with this mod enabled, even the vanilla Aetherial Crown suffers the same issue, but you'd rather have magicka cost reduction anyway, right?
